There is a new Jfox Server

We have a new Jfox server and started migrating Jfox accounts to this server. It should provide a much quicker service and allows us to add more resources as we need them (to keep it quick!!). The migration will happen behind the scenes at night, and will be a seamless change over. There is nothing you need to do at your end.

Jfox has had a few updates

Jfox has been updated to version 0.9.44. So what's new?

Reports Update: The Reports section in Jfox has had a make over, primarily behind the scenes. This will make it quick and easy to add new custom reports. You will notice some new reports (in particular productivity reports - see below) as well as your existing reports.

All reports will now be generated through the new module, however as most reports are customised to each client there may be the odd one that does not get picked up by the new report module. So in the case of this happening, we have left the old module running to catch these reports. If you do see anything not working the way it should, please contact us ASAP so we can update the failing report.

Chargeable Hours: All time that is entered in Jfox can now be set as chargeable (default) or non-chargeable. This allows you to track the project productivity - cost/time that can be charged out, compared to the cost/time that can not (in-house work, over budget etc...).

The chargeable setting can be applied at three levels - the project, the phase or task, and the timesheet entry itself. If the project is set as chargeable then all phases and tasks within that project will be chargeable, likewise for non-chargeable projects. A project can also be set to Mixed, which by default is chargeable, but allows you to individually set each phase and task as chargeable or not. There is also an option on the timer and the manual timesheet entry form to select whether the time you are recording at that particular moment is chargeable or not. By default this last option is turned off, if you would like it enabled, please contact us.

To set a project, phase, or task as chargeable or non-chargeable, click to edit the project/phase/task and there will be a new "Chargeable" option. This will only effect records from that point on. To update existing records (i.e.  if you wanted a project and all of its phases, tasks, and timesheet entries to be non-chargeable), we have provided a useful tool. Select the project, click to edit, and you will see a "Bulk Chargeable Update" section. This will go back and update all records for this project, so please use it carefully.

Timesheet Entry Sticky Form: When manually entering a timesheet record and you choose "Submit record & add another", the project, phase, and task will now remain selected so you can make quick entries one after the other.

Project Attributes Update: In a recent Jfox release, Project Attributes were introduced giving you the ability to create your own project fields. We have taken this one step further and added a new Privilege option when creating an attribute, so you can choose who sees that attribute.
